Unusual Wedding Cakes

We love creativity and thinking outside the box.  The curling tree cake was designed using their invitation.  Buttercream designs painted with luster dust for a light metallic sheen.  The birch trunk cake was also created using buttercream.  We try not to use fondant if we can help it, however the Board Game Wedding Cake called for it with the sheep, poker chips, dice, scrabble tiles - and the King & Queen cards on top were made with fondant covered with edible images.  The Catan board pieces on the bottom tier were painted on buttercream.  The cake may look like it was covered in fondant, however it was smoothed buttercream.

Crooked Cakes!

We love crooked cakes!

This was the first crooked cake we ever constructed, for a wedding in Napa, CA at Chardonnay Golf Course.  Assembled in 2 pieces, the bottom half, and top half were each assembled ahead of delivery.  Top tier was foe, grapes were non-edible, and flowers were real.

VINTAGE FESTIVAL 2013

Inspired by our first Crooked Cake, we won best table with this one as our centerpiece.
