Happy Bee-Day!

Small tiered cakes are fun!
These little 2 tiered cakes can be personalized for any theme. This was a 6" top tier, and 8" bottom tier, serving 28. I think it would be really cute even smaller.
I love the simplicity of this one. The ribbon and flowers were made of fondant. The bee was drawn-on with frosting.

Thanksgiving Turkey Cookies

Turkey Cookies!

I made these Decorated Sugar Cookies for my kids. They were made using a hand cookie cutter, designed after the childrens' craft in

school. The royal icing was just poured for the bodies when I took this picture.

I made the larger hand-turkey cookies for my own guests on Thanksgiving Day, they were a fun addition to the dessert table.

Next year, I hope to make another style of turkey, more realistic & elegant... yes, a turkey can be elegant!

Pig in Pearls

This cake was for a group of friends visiting Sonoma for their 50th Birthdays. I loved the idea, and they called themselves "Pigs in Pearls", so one member of the group ordered this cake as a surprise.

I think she's a very elegant piggy =)

I carved her completely with cake (no rice krispies or fondant). Her pearls, eyes, earrings, flower on head, purse and hooves were made with fondant. Otherwise she is covered with frosting. The birthday message banner is also fondant, and an edible food writing pen used for the message (a new favorite tool!)

The Old Ball & Chain

I LOVE FUN GROOM'S CAKES!
This was one of my very first 3D Groom's cakes, definitely memorable! The Bride had a great sense of humor with this gift, and it said "Finally", because they were life-long sweethearts. One of my furthest deliveries as well, to Fresno, CA.

SEUSS!

Dr. Seuss Baby Shower Cake

This was a "Cat in the Hat" shower, however I found a few ideas online to include the baby clothesline, and the phrase, "A person's a person, no matter how small!"

*Perfect*

The decorations are painted on, except for the bottles, blocks & sign, which are fondant.

I've wanted to make a Cat in the Hat cake for so long, it was really hard to decide how to construct it. Now I realize that I would love to make multiple varieties of this same theme.

...and of course any Seuss creation would be so much fun!

Sean's Garbage Truck

This cake was designed after the birthday boys' shirt he would be wearing, with a green garbage truck. It came out pretty close! His very creative Mother asked that I also add garbage cans and "creative garbage" such as fish bones & anything else I could think of which was "gross, but not too gross", ha ha...

House Warming

FROGGIES!
I just love these little guys! I found this idea from searching online for "house warming cake" - and I thought it was so clever with use of the lily "pad". I used 4 frogs, as there were 4 people in the family.

MADAGASCAR!

I just LOVE this cake!
I made this for my nephew's birthday. I especially love the giraffe, as it was the first time I tried something awkward like that. They were all made of fondant, and the giraffe was formed around a thick piece of metal. I've learned a bit since this cake, and don't always have to insert support. I think the stripes & dots are so cute. If I do another one, I'll do more with the greenery.

Jack of Hearts

This cake was one of the most detailed cakes I've ever done, including 3D creations! I LOVED making this, for his 80th birthday, what an honor!
