Sweet Dreams Baby

I thought this was a very sweet baby shower cake!
The message read, "Twinkle twinkle, little star, how we wonder who you are." I found that phrase on the web, and have used it on a 2nd cake already. It's a cute little saying for expecting parents who don't know their baby's gender.
This was my first fondant/gumpaste "moon baby" figurine. I hope to make more!

Ca-Chow!

A Twist on the 3D CARS and Lightning McQueen Cakes
k
This cake was for my nephew's 2nd birthday. He likes to say "key-chow!" =)

Tiered cakes are becoming more popular, & I think they're very cute! I've done a lot of 3D CARS or Drawn-On CARS cakes, & wanted to do something a bit different. He was able to keep the toys too!

The Pea Pods!

These Are So Sweet!

I really liked the addition of the small details such as the pink bonnet, flowers, and the coiled vines.

The Pea Pods & flowers were made with fondant; all other decoration is buttercream.

I have also done cupcakes with "twin pods", 2 baby faces within 1 pea pod. I may post a picture in a later blog.

Green is my favorite color, but I really like the pink and brown combination. Baby shower cakes have become so much more creative and fun! I love working with all the different themes, and they are often tier cakes now rather than flat/sheet cakes. Sheet cakes can be cute too, it's just fun working with some height & different shapes.

Peeking Fairies

I LOVE THIS CAKE TOO!

This was for a sweet 16th birthday. This was my first fondant-gumpaste bow, which I liked; and it was my first 3D fondant-gumpaste fairy. If you look close, you will see 3 other fairies, hiding. The hand is probably way too small to see here... I just love how the flowers are placed, and I hope to create more like this!

Captain Mason's Treasure Chest

I LOVE THIS CAKE!
This was my first Treasure Chest, which was for "Captain Mason", who was turing 5. He couldn't decide between a skull & crossbones, or a treasure chest, so I added the bones on top =)
This was decorated with frosting, and has fondant accents.
