This cake was for a group of friends visiting Sonoma for their 50th Birthdays. I loved the idea, and they called themselves "Pigs in Pearls", so one member of the group ordered this cake as a surprise. I think she's a very elegant piggy =)
I carved her completely with cake (no rice krispies or fondant). Her pearls, eyes, earrings, flower on head, purse and hooves were made with fondant. Otherwise she is covered with frosting. The birthday message banner is also fondant, and an edible food writing pen used for the message (a new favorite tool!)
